| Research Interests: My research concentrates on how to go about using quantum computers for quantum simulation and how errors scale during this process. So far I have done a comprehensive literature review of quantum simulation focusing on different techniques for time evolving Hamiltonians and some ideas about universality. I hope to apply this knowladge to build upon work by Brown, Clark and Chuang (Phys. Rev. Lett 97 050504) on how errors scale when simulating the BCS Hamiltonian on an NMR quantum computer. An overall aim is to establish whether it is possible to conduct simulations efficiently in error scaling and if not how detrimental this would be for the use of quantum computers for simulation.
